The Challenge

Hygienic Design Is Now a Scored Part of Food Safety Compliance

Food processing equipment is no longer judged on throughput alone. Standards bodies such as EHEDG and FDA, along with retailer-driven audits under BRC and SQF, now evaluate equipment design as a measurable element of food safety certification — auditors examine welds, frame joints, and whether a conveyor can actually be cleaned the way a sanitation plan claims.

That scrutiny is intensifying across categories. What was once a dairy- and beverage-specific concern around Clean-in-Place (CIP) cleaning now extends to meat processors, bakery lines, and nutraceutical manufacturers, all of whom need equipment built without crevices, exposed fasteners, or surfaces that trap residue.

For processors choosing conveyor equipment, the question isn't just "can it move the product" — it's "can it pass the audit, every time, without slowing down the line." That's the standard MHE Conveyor builds to.

Common Friction Points We Solve

  • Crevices & hard-to-clean joints — standard industrial conveyors trap residue and fail hygiene audits.
  • Washdown exposure — frequent water and sanitizer contact corrodes non-food-grade frames.
  • Mixed product handling — bottles, cartons, trays, and loose product all need different belt surfaces.
  • Cold-chain environments — chilled and frozen processing lines demand corrosion-resistant materials.
  • Layout complexity — multi-line bottling and packing halls need curved, inclined, and branching conveyor paths.
The Production Flow

Where Conveyors Fit Into a Food & Beverage Line

A typical food or beverage processing line moves product through five stages — MHE conveyor systems are configured to support each one hygienically.

01

Raw Material Intake

Stainless steel roller and belt conveyors move incoming product into the processing area.

02

Processing & Slaughter Lines

Cleated plastic modular conveyors carry product through cutting, sorting, and prep stations.

03

Bottling & Packing

Slat chain and belt conveyors accumulate and transport bottles, cartons, and cases.

04

Case & Carton Distribution

Roller conveyor combinations distribute packed cases across multiple dispatch lines.

05

Warehouse Transfer

Gravity and motorized roller conveyors move finished goods into cold storage or shipping.

Our Conveyor Range

Food-Grade Conveyor Solutions for Every Stage of Production

Each system below is manufactured in-house at our Ningbo factory and can be customized in frame material, module type, and layout to fit your sanitation requirements.

Customized Series
01 · Hygienic Belt Conveyor

Plastic Modular Conveyor — PMC Series

Driven by plastic chain wheels for minimal track deviation, the modular belt is molded to hygienic standards in PP, PE, POM, or Nylon — offering good chemical resistance and easy washdown. Frames are typically built in stainless steel (SUS201/304/316/316L) to withstand repeated sanitizing.

Module: PP / PE / POM / Nylon Frame: SUS201 / SUS304 / SUS316 / SUS316L Layout: linear, curved, inclined, L/Z/C/O-shaped Capacity: 30–50kg/m standard

Best for: poultry & livestock slaughter lines, fruit packing, fishery processing, frozen food lines.

Food Grade Series
02 · Wash-Down Ready

Food-Grade Stainless Steel Conveyor

Built for food, beverage, and medicine industries where direct product contact and frequent washdown are routine. Continuous, crevice-minimized welds and smooth surfaces are designed to hold up under repeated cleaning cycles without compromising structural durability.

Stainless steel frame & product-contact surfaces Washdown & sanitation-ready construction Suitable for chilled & frozen environments

Best for: beverage bottling halls, dairy lines, medicine and nutraceutical production, direct food-contact transfer.

Heavy Duty Series — SCC-HD
03 · Bottling & Case Accumulation

Slat Chain Conveyor — Bottle & Carton Handling

Used widely across beverage bottling halls for bottle accumulation, beer case delivery, and carton distribution. Built with bid-pitched chains for stable running under continuous load, available in zinc-plated carbon steel or stainless steel (SUS201/304) depending on your hygiene zone.

Slat material: zinc-plated carbon steel or SUS201/304 Form: linear, curved, inclined, L-shaped Capacity: 50kg/m standard, up to 1,000kg/m heavy-duty

Best for: beer & beverage bottle accumulation, carton/case distribution lines, multi-track delivery systems.

Distribution Line
04 · Multi-Lane Distribution

Roller Conveyor Combination for Case Distribution

For packing halls dispatching to multiple destinations, our roller conveyor combinations interflow and branch packed cases across several lanes — keeping bottling and packing output moving smoothly into warehouse or cold-storage transfer.

Interflow & branch lane configurations Compatible with gravity or motorized sections Suitable for inter-floor case delivery

Best for: case/carton distribution after packing, multi-line dispatch, inter-floor product transfer.

FAQ

Food & Beverage Conveyor — Common Questions

What frame materials do you offer for washdown environments?

Our food-grade and plastic modular conveyors are available with stainless steel frames in SUS201, SUS304, SUS316, or SUS316L, selected based on your washdown frequency and chemical exposure.

Can the plastic modular belt handle direct food contact?

Yes. The modular belt is molded in PP, PE, POM, or Nylon to a hygienic standard, offering good chemical resistance and environmental friendliness suitable for direct contact applications such as fruit packing and fishery processing.

Do you supply conveyors for cold-chain or frozen processing lines?

Yes. Stainless steel and plastic modular conveyors are both suitable for chilled and frozen environments — frame and module materials are selected for corrosion resistance and stable performance at low temperatures.

Can slat chain conveyors handle high-volume bottling output?

Yes. Our slat chain conveyors are designed for continuous-duty bottle and case accumulation, with capacity options from a 50kg/m standard up to 1,000kg/m for heavy-duty bottling and beverage lines.

Is there a minimum order quantity for food-grade conveyor sections?

No. We operate a flexible no-MOQ policy, so you can pilot a single hygienic conveyor section on your processing line before scaling to a full installation.
